Creative Confidence Through Garden Therapy

We are Frankie and Leah - garden industry professionals and retired educators who spent 20 years using gardens to survive Alaska's brutal winters. We teach people navigating life's transitions such as retirement, empty nest, divorce, or the simple desire for healing. We show people how to restore their creative confidence through designing small, colorful, soulful garden spaces and adding structures with a touch of whimsical playfulness.

We Know Gardens - And We Know Loss
Our Story
For twenty years we worked in the garden industry - learning design, horticulture, and the art of creating beautiful, soulful spaces. Then we spent twenty more years as educators in Saint Michael, Wales, and Little Diomede, Alaska (the majority in Saint Michael).
Ten months a year: brutal isolation, darkness, and stress that could bury you. But every summer, we'd return home for two months and spend every moment in our gardens. After decades in the industry, we weren't gardening to demonstrate expertise; we were gardening to survive.
Creating colorful, vibrant spaces was how we restored ourselves after months of gray and cold. We didn't know it then, but we were practicing therapeutic horticulture - using our professional design - not for aesthetics - but for emotional healing.
When we both retired from education, we lost our daily identity. Our Purpose. Who we'd been for forty years. Gardens saved us again. Now we teach what we know.: professional garden design adapted for therapeutic healing - helping people navigate life's hardest transitions through the creative practice of designing beauty.
